The Net-Zero Asset Owner Alliance has opened a public consultation on the fourth edition of its Target Setting Protocol.

The protocol outlines how the Alliance members are to set their science-based intermediate targets. The updates in the draft of the fourth edition concern expansion of asset class coverage. Specifically, the public is invited to provide feedback on target-setting methodologies for private debt funds; target-setting methodologies for real estate debt funds and residential mortgages; and performance assessment of sovereign debt holdings through qualitative indicators.

All stakeholders are invited to submit their feedback here, which will inform the final version of the protocol.

The consultation will close on 29 September.
