Canada Life Re appoints Peter McGloughlin as CIO

Canada Life Reinsurance (Canada Life Re) has appointed Peter McGloughlin as chief investment officer.

McGloughlin was formerly the head of asset intensive reinsurance at Canada Life Re.

Commenting on his appointment, McGloughlin said: “Following two significant transactions in 2024, we have ambitious plans to grow the asset intensive business, I look forward to continuing the build out of our range of investment solutions to support this effort.”

Patrick Quirke has also assumed the new role of head of ALM and balance sheet optimisation to lead the development of value optimising asset strategies.
