- Fiera Capital has announced the appointment of Samuel Berman as managing director, insurance distribution.
The newly-created role reflects Fiera’s strategic focus on the insurance sector, where the team manages approximately US$20bn for more than 100 clients globally.
Berman is based in Fiera’s London office and works closely with Paul Doyle, head of insurance (UK & Bermuda) and managing director (institutional markets). In this position, Berman is responsible for developing and raising third-party insurance assets across the UK and Bermudan insurance markets, working with insurers in the run-off, life, Lloyd’s of London, and P&C space.
Prior to joining Fiera, Berman was director of UK & Bermuda insurance business development at Allianz Global Investors, where he worked across a broad range of alternative asset classes including trade finance and Dutch mortgages. Prior to that, he held similar positions at Kames Capital, and AXA Investment Managers.

When launching its dedicated impact private equity strategy in 2021, Mirova's ambition was to combine financial returns with support for the environmental transition by rolling out ‘acceleration capital’ to develop sustainable businesses by addressing major growth-generating trends and supporting innovative solutions and technologies. Two years after its launch, MEAC has raised €211m in commitments, from which 30% come from private clients attracted by the multi-thematic approach of this SFDR Article 9 fund.
