Road Safety Authority (RSA) chief exec Moyagh Murdock has been appointed chief executive of Insurance Ireland and will take up her role at the end of March 2020.
Murdock has a wide range of experience mainly focused on the transport sector. Prior to her role as chief executive of the RSA she was chief operating officer for Bus Eireann where she had responsibility for road passenger operations, schools transport and information technology and business systems. Murdock's career also involved spells with Bombardier, Team Aer Lingus and Caterpillar.
Commenting on the appointment, the President of Insurance Ireland Ann Kelleher said: "In her current role Murdock has developed and successfully implemented the current RSA 5-year Corporate Plan 2016 to 2020, delivering tangible organisational change and introducing a programme of process improvements that embed operational excellence across a broad spectrum of services.
"She will bring a fresh perspective to her role in Insurance Ireland, with a particular focus on the Irish consumer. Murdock was selected following a very competitive selection process and demonstrated an enthusiasm and vision for the sector focused on its various stakeholders.”
