Aviva's GI net premiums rise by 11%; SII ratio increases

Aviva's general insurance net premiums rose by 11% to £4,688m in HY17 compared to £3,991m in HY16.

Value of new business was up 27% in the same period and total group assets under management increased to £475bn from £450bn for FY16.

The insurer's Solvency II coverage ratio increased to 193% from 189% in FY16.

Total operating profits were up 11% to £1,465m compared to HY16: £1,325m.
