Gothaer has signed the global investor declaration to governments on the 2022 climate crisis.
The annual investor declaration brings international investors together with the goal of encouraging governments to implement policies to manage climate risk and direct trillions of dollars toward addressing the climate crisis. The statement is being released today ahead of the 27th United Nations Climate Change Conference to be held in Egypt in November 2022.
“We are at a societal tipping point and want to do everything in our power to limit global temperature rise to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels,” Gothaer group CFO Harald Epple said.
“That is why, in the run-up to the 27th United Nations Climate Change Conference, we – together with hundreds of investors around the world – are calling on governments around the world to enshrine five priority climate protection requirements in their national legislation. Effective policy action is critical to accelerating and expanding the private capital flows needed to decarbonise the economy.”
