French life insurers see net inflows rise by €0.9bn

French life insurers recorded net inflows of €1.4bn for February 2020, up from €0.5bn for January 2020, according to the French Insurance Federation (FFA).

From the start of the year, French life insurance companies collected €23.2bn of premiums (compared to €25.2bn over the same period in 2019).

Payments to unit-linked products accounted for €8.4bn from the start of the year, i.e.36% of premiums. Over the same period insurance companies paid out benefits of €21bn (€19.9bn in 2019).

At end February 2020 in-force life insurance business (mathematical provisions + profit sharing provisions) stood at €1,776bn (up 3 % year-on-year).
