2.6% of EEA insurers’ direct corporate bond/equity investments aligned with EU Taxonomy

A total 2.6% of EEA insurers’ direct corporate bond and equity investments are aligned with the EU Taxonomy of sustainable activities, while another 15.5% are eligible, according to figures published by EIOPA.

When excluding securities issued by financial terms, the share of Taxonomy-aligned investments rises to 5.7% with another 34.1% being eligible.

EEA insurers’ direct investments in corporate bonds and equities account for around 29% of total investments. Investment in investment funds account for 33% of total portfolios, mortgage & loans (4%), property (4%), cash and deposits (4%), government bonds (23%), and other (4%).
