Phoenix Group’s head of stewardship, Valeria Piani, has been appointed chair of the Climate Action 100+ steering committee.
Climate Action 100+ is the world’s largest investor engagement initiative on climate change.
Piani said: "This role is a great honour for me personally and I’m really looking forward to taking this on at such a pivotal moment for investor climate engagement. This initiative has already demonstrated the power of investor engagement in driving progress in the corporate world in the last eight years.
“However, the context in which Climate Action 100+ operates today is very different from when we launched the initiative in 2017. This is why we need to ensure that our global and regional strategy is fit for purpose to continue to deliver much needed action on climate change. In the next 12 months, the steering committee will focus on engagement effectiveness and value creation for our signatories. I look forward to the many conversations I will be having with other steering committee members, signatories, investor networks and funders to make a difference and create a lasting impact.”
