MetLife invested $1.4bn in investments that advance diversity between 2021 and 2023, achieving its targets early.

As part of its 2030 DEI Commitments, MetLife had pledged to originate $1bn in investments that advance diversity by 2030. Investments were made in private equity, agricultural lending and real estate debt and equity.

In its general account investments, MetLife’s goal is to reduce GHG emissions for real estate equity investments by 50% from its 2019 baseline. Between 2019 and 2022, it had reduced financed emissions by 11%.
