Cattolica Assicurazioni has seen its solvency ratio boosted from 161% to 187% as at 31 December 2020, thanks to the capital increase of €300m subscribed by Generali last October.

The ratio is calculated according to the standard formula using the group specific parameters (GSP) authorised by the supervisory body.

The Verona-based company said its operating profit rose 37% year-on-year in 2020 to €412m ($487m), above a range of between €360-380m it had provided in January.
