Aspen Insurance has signalled plans to list in New York, delivering a fresh blow to London’s stock market.
The £3bn insurer recently filed paperwork seeking permission to list shares on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). The company is understood to have had concerns about different accounting standards between the UK and the US.
The insurer has hired Goldman Sachs, Jefferies and Citi to work on the listing, which was lodged with the US Securities and Exchange Commission before Christmas.
Aspen is headquartered in Bermuda and was previously listed on the NYSE until its current owner, Apollo, took it private for $2.6bn (£2.1bn) in 2019.
