Speaker Profile: Peter Vasey

Peter is a widely experienced risk executive having spent in excess of 20 years across credit, investment, market and operational risk in a variety of financial services roles. Peter joined Pension Insurance Corporation (PIC) in March 2017 as Head of Financial Risk responsible for the risk oversight of the Investment, Origination and Reinsurance areas. Prior to PIC, Peter led the Risk and Compliance function for private medical insurer Bupa Global Latin America with responsibility for the oversight across eight regulated entities and a regulated reinsurance undertaking. During this time Peter led the delivery of Solvency II compliance in Mexico. In the two years prior to this Peter was Head of Risk for Bupa Global Market Unit with responsibility for the delivery of the Enterprise Risk Management framework across Bupa’s international operations. Before joining Bupa, Peter held responsibility for the oversight of Financial Risk at Partnership Life Insurance, the enhanced annuity provider, which IPO in 2013. Peter has also spent time at the UK financial services regulator where he was responsible for the supervision of a range of life insurance firms during the latter stages of the Great Financial Crisis and thereafter. Peter also held credit risk roles for several financial services businesses prior to joining the FSA.
