Speaker Profile: Barbara Richter

Barbara Richter is a Managing Director and the Head of Asset Based Finance. She is responsible for leading DWS’s Asset Based Finance team under Patrick Connors and for driving the development of DWS’s strategy and origination efforts across ABF. Barbara joined DWS after nearly a decade at Värde, where she led the firm’s whole loan program and played a central role in expanding its Asset Based Finance footprint globally. Before joining Värde in 2016, she has held senior responsibilities across structured and private credit markets, building on her earlier experience at Goldman Sachs, where she spent eight years and most recently served as a Director in Structured Credit Trading. Barbara began her career following academic research, having graduated from Harvard University with a B.A. in Chemistry and Physics and earned a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Cambridge.
