Resolution Life has appointed Ruth Farrugia as its new chief investment officer (CIO) as part of a planned transition.
She will succeed Karl Happe in September, who was fundamental in building Resolution Life’s relationship with Blackstone and leading the repositioning of the asset portfolio.
Farrugia is a senior finance executive with over 20 years’ experience in the asset management sector and will join Resolution Life from MetLife Investment Management, where she was global head of insurance asset management.
Prior to this, Farrugia held a variety of roles within the investments division at MetLife including head of EMEA portfolio management and head of investments for Western and Central Europe.
