US PRT market volume set to hit $10bn for Q3

The US PRT market volume for Q3 is expected to hit $10bn, according to Legal & General Retirement America's (LGRA) latest US Pension Risk Transfer Monitor, following the largest first half on record for the market at $22.5bn in deal volume.

LGRA said "while this is a decrease from last year's third quarter, the market continues to exhibit rapid growth and total market volume is estimated to close at around $45bn at the end of 2023 - the second largest year to date following 2022's total of $51.9bn.

Sheena McEwen, VP, head of distribution, LGRA, added: "We’re seeing a truly well-rounded PRT market in terms of the types and sizes of deals transacting. Though this year’s total market premium won’t surpass last year’s record, it’s still the second largest we’ve seen and a testament to the continued growth of the PRT industry in the US."
