J.P. Morgan Asset Management (JPMAM) has appointed Oliver Riley as head of UK for its global insurance solutions business, based in London, with immediate effect.
Riley brings more than 15 years’ specialist experience in insurance asset management and reports to Mark Oldcorn, international head of global insurance solutions.
In this role, he will be responsible for developing and delivering the UK strategy for JPMAM’s global insurance solutions business, partnering with UK insurers and working closely with investment, portfolio, advisory, analytics and risk stakeholders to deliver client-led solutions aligned to insurers’ objectives and constraints.
Oldcorn said: “We see a UK insurance market that is well positioned for long-term expansion, underpinned by innovation, demographic shifts and supportive regulatory change, particularly the continued growth in bulk annuities as defined benefit schemes seek de-risking solutions. In this context, Oliver's appointment as head of UK for global insurance solutions, bringing deep specialist experience across insurance asset management and capital solutions, is timely as we strengthen our partnership with UK insurers. We believe that the UK insurance market provides an attractive long-term growth opportunity at scale.”
Riley joins JPMAM from Polus Capital Management, where he was focused on insurance capital solutions. Prior to that, he held a senior role at Aptimus Capital Partners as head of insurance solutions. The majority of his career was spent at BlackRock, where he was senior lead EMEA relationship manager within the Financial Institutions Group.
