Invesco appoints head of UK insurance distribution

Invesco has announced the appointment of Joe Steidl as head of UK insurance distribution.

Steidl will be part of the UK distribution management team responsible for developing the distribution strategy and sales plan across the UK insurance channel, leading the business development of UK insurance clients.

He has over 15 years’ experience in business development roles covering UK and European institutional investors and consultants, and joins from Research Affiliates (RAFI), a global quant investment firm where he worked for nine years, as head of EMEA institutional sales and strategic partnerships. Prior to this, he worked at Investec in Johannesburg before heading to the UK to join MSCI Inc. in 2010, where he held a number of roles in investment and market risk as well as sales and business development.

Kate Dwyer, head of UK distribution at Invesco commented: “Steidl will work closely with the distribution teams as well Charles Moussier, head of EMEA insurance client solutions, to strengthen our growing business within the UK insurance sector. Invesco has a long history in partnerships and building effective solutions for insurance clients and Steidl's experience and understanding the complexities these client face, will strengthen those partnerships and support this strategic priority within our business.”

In addition to this new appointment, Invesco has also announced two further promotions. Sean Connery, head of Ireland institutional and director UK institutional, is being appointed as head of Ireland institutional and director UK insurance taking on additional responsibilities within the insurance distribution team working alongside Steidl. Sachin Bhatia will expand his role to include the insurance team alongside his current responsibilities as head of UK institutional and EMEA consultant relations.
