Aviva Investors has appointed Roland Derks as a global high yield portfolio manager.

Derks has over 15 years of investment industry experience, having held a variety of portfolio management roles at Goldman Sachs over the last decade, including convertibles portfolio manager and high yield portfolio manager. He also held analyst roles at both Nomura and Deutsche Bank earlier in his career.

Fabrice Pellous, co-head of high yield at Aviva Investors, said: “We already possess a strong and expansive fixed income team, and our expectation is that Roland will further add to this through his industry experience and investment knowledge. The high yield market is one that we believe will present significant opportunities over the coming years, and we believe now is the perfect time for us to bolster our expertise in this space. The appointment of Roland does this, and we look forward to working with him.”
