Aegon UK’s head of responsible investment, Hilkka Komulainen, has announced that she is stepping down.
Posting on LinkedIn, Komulainen stated: After many fun and fabulous years, my time at Aegon UK is coming to an end. It has been such a privilege to be part of Aegon’s investment team supporting the pensions and long-term investments of one in four UK adults, and to build out Aegon’s responsible investment strategy.”
She added that over the past three and a half years, the team has also built out Aegon’s responsible investment team; set short-, medium- and long-term climate targets as part of the firm’s Climate Roadmap, with a 40% reduction in its workplace default funds’ carbon footprint to date since 2020, optimised over £25bn of default assets on ESG factors; became an FRC Stewardship Code signatory on the first attempt; co-chaired the DWP Taskforce on Social Factors; engaged with global asset managers jointly representing more than £20trn AuM for the Net Zero Asset Owner Alliance; and built Aegon’s stewardship strategy.
