AXA/BNP Paribas considering asset management merger, reports suggest

Written by Adam Cadle

AXA and BNP Paribas are considering an asset management tie-up, according to Bloomberg.

Discussions are reported to be underway but there is no indication they will lead to a transaction, especially since AXA is also studying mergers with other French management companies.

AXA has previously stated that it wishes to participate in the current consolidation in the industry, which has accelerated in recent months, particularly in the private markets sector.
