Daniel Blamont, Head of Investment Strategy, Phoenix Group
Daniel Blamont is head of investment strategy at Phoenix Group. Amongst other things, he is responsible for strategic asset allocation and derivative strategy for annuity funds. Daniel has been at Phoenix since 2012. Prior to that, he worked for over nine years in investment banking, starting in fixed income research at Deutsche Bank in 2002. From 2006 to 2012 Daniel was in Insurance & Pension structuring at Deutsche Bank and subsequently Credit Suisse. Daniel holds a MSc. in Financial Mathematics from Warwick University and a BSc. in Mathematics and Management from King’s College London.
Ian Coulman, Chief Investment Officer, Pool Re
Ian is an experienced investment professional with international experience and strong leadership and management skills. He possesses extensive investment knowledge of all major asset classes and a wide variety of investment products and styles in fixed income, equities and alternative asset classes. As Pool Re’s Chief Investment Officer, Ian is responsible for the development and implementation of investment strategy, strategic asset allocation and the monitoring of managers. Prior to joining Pool Re as CIO, Ian was Managing Director of Butterfield Asset Management, a wholly owned subsidiary of Butterfield Bank. The asset management subsidiary provided investment management services to high net worth individuals, institutions, and retail clients. Before joining Butterfield in 1998, Ian fulfilled a number of senior investment roles with AIG in London, Boston and Tokyo. Ian began his investment career with the private Swiss bank Lombard Odier.
Jayne Styles, Chief Investment Officer, MS Amlin
Jayne has a wealth of financial services experience. She has been MS Amlin’s Chief Investment Officer since 2002, where she directs investment: strategy, governance and operations for their market leading £6bn plus global multi-asset, multi-manager portfolios. She is a member of the Group Oversight Committee that develops and oversees corporate strategy for the MS Amlin Group. A member of the Japanese MS&AD Insurance Group, MS Amlin is a global specialist insurance and reinsurance underwriting company that, whilst domiciled in the UK, has a number of overseas operating subsidiaries. Prior to joining Amlin, Jayne worked as an independent management consultant advising a number of blue chip companies, whilst completing an Executive MBA at Cranfield. She was previously Head of International Equities at Halifax Fund Management Limited. Jayne is also a non-executive director for the FTSE100 investment management services company Hargreaves Lansdown plc and a member of the Corporation of Lloyd’s Investment Committee. She is an Associate of the Chartered Financial Analyst Society of the UK, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers, an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, as well as a qualified Executive Coach.
